Unimproved for more than 20 years, the kitchen of this residential property required complete renewal.
We took out all kitchen units along with floor and wall tiles. As the original lath and plaster was in poor condition, we stripped the walls back to the brickwork and re-plastered the entire room, including the ceiling, replacing its 1990s Artex finish.
Prior to plastering, a complete electrical rewire was carried out, installing new power sockets and fuse spur switches for appliances. Sockets were upgraded to Schneider Nickel Black to match the new black quartz splash-back. We also installed Aurora spot lighting with LED units in the ceiling.
To improve the rigidity of the existing floor boards, we laid 9mm plyboard followed by bright red Quartz floor tiles (300x300mm) with a black grout to finish.
Our client commissioned new kitchen units from Wren Kitchens. After allowing the newly re-plastered walls to dry out for seven days, we applied a mist coat of paint and installed the units.
