This commercial property had previously belonged to an automotive parts supplier. Our client, A2W Consulting, required a full strip-out to prepare the way for fitting out four retail units.
First we isolated the electrical, gas and water supplies, and protected them from the ongoing works. These involved removing extensive shelving systems as well false ceilings, stud frame partitions, staircases and carpets.
In the rear section of the units, a steel structured mezzanine floor had to be dismantled. The large beams and columns were removed from site whole and sold to a steel fabricator. To minimise waste and the cost to the client, we also diverted as much material as possible for recycling – this included timber, aluminium, electrical cables and copper pipework.
Asbestos floor tiling throughout the premises also had to be carefully removed and disposed of responsibly, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
